The Eurasia Dance Ensemble, under the artistic directorship of Andrij Cybyk, is the EDS performing company.  Ensemble performers have had extensive training in ballet and at least one of the traditional dance styles of the Eurasian region prior to joining the company.  For the 2009-2010 year, the Eurasia Dance Ensemble will focus primarily on studying choreographies of Russian and Ukrainian origin, to include dances of the Roma and of the Crimean Tartars.  New Eurasian cultures will be introduced into the Ensemble’s performance repertoire prior to being integrated into the EDS teaching curriculum. 

The Eurasia Dance Ensemble is currently accepting applications from qualified dancers in the DC and NYC areas.  Dancers with 10 years of training in ballet or traditional dance are encouraged to apply.  To express interest, please email the EDS Artistic Director at andrij@eurasiadance.org.  Auditions will be arranged as necessary in the summer and fall of 2009.

Transportation will be provided for NYC and DC members to and from Philadelphia.  Ensemble members will leave DC and NYC at 8:00am and will return at 8:00pm.  Saturday rehearsal dates will be announced at least 45 days in advance. 

Ensemble members have free admission to and are required to take the EDS Advanced Character Warm-up class on Sundays at 6:15pm (DC branch) or Fridays at 7pm (NYC branch).  Ensemble members will also receive discounted tuition rates for EDS Advanced Character classes and for the EDS Summer Dance Intensive at Mountain View Resort.
